CENTRAL SCHOOL.
CARNIVAL IN AID OF NO. 1 STATIONARY HOSPITAL. On December 2nd, it is proposed to hold a carnival in the Park in aid of the) above object. The success of those previously given should be a sufficient guarantee of what may reasonably be expected. However, the probability is that this year's effort will eclipse anything yet seen here, as the School Committee, the Ngamotu Beautifying Society, the West End Foreshore 'improvement Society, and the East End Beach Improvement Society are continuing to a.ssist the stall' and pupils in producing something out of the common. Given a line day the promoters can safely rely on a record attendance, and it will be the aim of all concerned not to disappoint those who attend. In addition to those given by the Central Seiiool pupils, items have been promised from the High School, West Knd, Fitzroy, Convent, and probably Frank'cy Road, while a short exhibition of one of our national games will be furnished by a friendly combat between a team of veterans from Xew Plymouth Bowling Club and a similar number of veterans from the country, lead respectively by Mr. R. Cock and Mr. James 1!. Hill. The net proceeds of the carnival will be devoted to the funds of Dr. Wylie's Hospital.
