STRATFORD.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) Stratford, Monday. On Saturday, I visited the A. and I'. Association Sliow G-rounds, and was surprised to sec the improvements that are being made, in anticipation of the forthcoming Show. Two large cooking ranges are being installed, in order to make the catering more up-to-date, and this year, Messrs. Dustin, Ltd., of Wang.'inui, liiive secured the rights for catering. The green feed for the show stock is coming away fine, and the Association having closed up two extra paddocks, exhibitors will be well supplied. All is now needed, is two line Show days and the 191."> Show of the Association should be a record one. For those young men who .parade Broadway on a Sunday night, passing uncomplimentary remarks about young ladies who pass up the street, and make the town hideous by blowing mouth organs, there is no better place to exert their energies than the trenches, and the 3ooner they enlist the better, otherwise if they keep this sort of silliness going there is not the least doubt that some of them will be asked to pay a visit to the Magistrate. The Stratford Bowling Club play the postponed match against West End at New Plymouth on Thursday next. Players who were selected to play last Thursday are requested to notify the selector if their services are available for Thursday next. A small slip occurred at the Whangamomoiui tunnel on Saturday, The slip was, however, cleared in time to allow the train to run to time.
