"SAVE THE FIGHTINd MEN." NEW ZEALAND HEROINES. By Cable.—Press Association—Copyright London, Nov. 11. Newspapers give prominence to the casualty list containing ton New Zealand staff nurses missing, and believed to have been drowned on the transport Marquette. The Morning Post, on the authority of the captain of a French cruiser, narrates an incident which is worthy to 'ive in the history of the Empire, illustrating thi! capable part our women are taking in the war. The cruiser was recently assisting in saving life after an unnamed transport had been torrpedoed in the Aegean Sea. Thirty-six nursing sisters were on board, of whom ten were drowned. When the French boats arrived the nurses with one accord called out: "Save the lighting men first."
