CARNIVAL QUEEN AND RAFFLES.
To the Editor. Sir, —Kindly allow me a small space in your paper to ask why, after having allowed raffles to be held in connection with St. Mary's Church Bazaar (called All Nation's Fair), the Rev. A. H. Colvile can conscientiously object to the Auckland Queen Carnival Committee using the same means of raising funds for an equally good cause. Is it consistent to condemn in another body what he allows to be practised in connection with his own church?—l am, etc., G. WILSON.
