Tlio Rritish Tmporial Oil Company's steamer Nord, from Singapore to Hobart with a cargo of benzine, hit the rocks near Cape Gillar. The vessel got her freight badly damaged and was making water rapidly* and foundered nine hours later in 48 fathoms. The crew of 30 Chinese and aaven Europeans escaped in the beat*.
