RED CROSS MART.

A LETTER OP THANKS. : Jlrs. Matthews, president of the Red Cross Mart at New Plymouth, writos:— ''l should be very glad if you would allow the local Red Cross Market the use of your columns to thank the numerous contributors for the very generous contributions they have made. The farming community especially have responded right royally, and it is in no small measure to th'em that the gaeat success of the market is due. While it is impossible to mention all the contributors and helpers by name, we can hardly allow the occasion to pass without mentioning Mr. R. F. Hill, who, with his untiring energy and great zeal for the cause, has given unbounded assistance to the committee. We have also to acknowledge liberal help received from the press. In conclusion, we trust that, those who have given so generously and ungrudgingly in the past will continue to do so in the future, and will so help Taranaki to maintain the high reputation it has already earned for self-sacri-fice in the nation's cause."
