High prices for wool are likely to rule during the forthcoming season. The New Zealand Herald says that there is expected to be the same healthy demand from Britain for the commodity; the New Zealand manufacturers, witli Defence Department orders to 1111 in addition to ordinary business, will require at least as much as they did last season, and the export of wool to, America is to be permitted, which will bring American wool buyers again into the market. The presence of the Americans will be welcomed by growers, as their buying will tend to raise prices. The Melbourne, Ltd., announce that they are expecting a new shipment of women's all-wool cashmere stockings at Is 3d and la Od per pair, also Llama cashmere stockings at 29 3d and 'is 8d in a few days' time,
