Ingle wood, Monday. the Guy Fawkes family arose to'tlic occasion last Friday and secured four collecting boxes from the Ladies' Patriotic Committee. After robing themselves in red, white, and blue, and donning masks, they commenced a liouse-to-lionse collection in the interest of the Wounded Soldiers" Fund, and realised the sum „f x.2 I.ls for that fund. The amount has been handed over to the secretary of the Patriotic Committee. The electrical department of the Borough Council is at present engaged m erecting new street poles for the electric light.
I lie local defence ofl'ieers state, that some eighteen or more recruits have revived instruction to join the special troop train next Monday night, en route tor rrentham.
Tne A\ esley Ladies' Guild assembled last rriday afternoon to receive the secretary"s financial report of the "Fair lays Bonnie Play Bazaar," recently held by that body. The report showed a net profit of £SB, which is to be equally divided between the local church trust and the Wounded Soldiers' Fund
