MR. BRYAN STILL TALKING. Washington, Nov. 5. Mr. Bryan has denounced President Wilson's national defence programme as a departure from American traditions, a reversal of American policy, a menace to peace, and a challenge to the spirit of Christianity, which teaches us to influence others by example rather than by exciting fear. America is not threatened in any quarter and it is absurd of it to attempt to carry a pistol or club when an upright, honorable course of action is enough to ensure the country against attack.
