NOTES FROM THE TIMES. UNDELIVERED PARCELS. Times and (Sydney Sun Services. Received Nov. 5, 5.5 p.m. London, Nov. 4. In the ILou.se of Commons, Mr. A. \V. Yeo asked if the Post Office would refund the postage on thousands of parcels that had not been delivqred to troops at tile Dardanelles, hut had accumulated and were spoiled at Alexandria. Mr. Herbert .Samuel said ths.t a special inquiry was proceeding. The service was necessarily slow, u\vin« to transport difficulties, and nuineroiH parcels were insecurely packed and not deliverable.
-MORE PEACE RUMOBS. Swiss Socialist newspapers allege that unofficial conferences between General von Bulow and representatives of several of the belligerents will shortly occur at Lucerne, on the subject of peace, The statement is ridiculed, and is probably part of the Creiman propaganda to interfere with the much-needed recruiting. GREECE AND HER LOAN. An Athens telegram states that Greece has refused to demobilise before tin; loan is fully paid, and this indicates an Allied loan to Greece. FOOD SCARCE AT SALONIKA. Serbian refugees are arriving in large numbers at Salonika, making the economic situation extremely difficult. Food is scarce, owing to the presenc of the international troops.
