ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
RAILWAY PORTER INJURED. By Telegraph.-—'Breas Association Wellington, Yesterday. Ernest Clay, a railway porter at Pctone, was seriously injured to-day, by being run over by a train. His 'right arm was practically severed, DISAPPEARED AT SEA. Wellington, Last Night. Miss A. Anderson, a steerage pas« senger on the Moeraki, disappeared during the run up from Lytttelton last night. She was last seen at 9.30 by a stewardess, who gave her a cup of tea. Misa Anderson was then crying, and was apparently unwell, but went to bed a little later. At seven this morning, a lady passenger ill the same cabin noticed Miss Anderson's absence. Search was made and a lavatory was found locked. When the door was forced, the port window, which was a large one, was open, and it is surmised that the woman climbed through it and fell into the sea and was drowned.
XBWSPAI'KR MAX KILLED. Palmerston N„ Last Xight A fatal railway accident occurred at Bunnythorpe to-dav, to a man named Daniel Sexton. He had beeji visiting the A. and P. Show, and when it reached Bunnythorpe he left the train. Before lie had time to board it again the train was going at a good pace. Deceased made a rush to witch the train, but hi* coat caught, and he was dragged under tlit wheels. Deceased was a compositor on the Ohakune Times. His mother lives at Worser Bay, Wellington.
