IN THE SUPREME COURT.
By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurih, Yesterday. The Supreme Court sittings opened to-day. The following sentences were imposed:—!. M. Byrne, for illegally opening a letter, eighteen months'' imprisonment; M. Sliewan, breaking, entering, and theft, twelve months' imprisonment; Jessie McEwen, theft from the person, eighteen months' imprisonment; Bertram Nenlev. imlcc.\i;iv essaulting a six-year-old' chili], live yc-.V imprisonment; A. M. Allen, assaulting a constable, six months' imprisonment; Patrick Ounn. theft and escaping from custody, eighteen mouths' imprisonment on the first charge and three months' on the second.
