NORTH TARANAKI PATRIOTIC LEAGUE. (From Our Own Co-respondent.) The usual weekly meeting of the above League was held on Monday evening, his Worship the Mayor presiding. A letter was received from Mr Skerrett to the effect that as soon as the Appeal Court was concluded he would reply further re the Wounded Soldiers Fund. Uruti branch advised that half the proceeds of Soldiers' Day would come to this League for the Red Cross Fund, and to be credited to the Uruti branch. The secretary reported having remitted £5 12s Id to the Soldiers' Tobacco Fund. . Mr Ewens submitted an estimate ot the result of a recent concert, showing a credit of £9 10s 9d. Mr. Harrison suggested that the League might take some steps in assisting "farmers in saving their crops. Jt was resolved, to advise farmers that if labor was required this League would endeavour to. find such.

Mr. Jenkins reported that the necessary repairs had been made to the Red Cross Mart, the (vork being done by Jlr. McDuff free of charge. A vote of thanks was passed to Mr. McDuff. The secretary reported having received £564 from the Urenui Committee on account of the recent gala, and a hope was expressed by the Urenui people that the amount would reach £750. A letter of congratulation is to be sent to the Urenui branch on the success of their well-merited efforts.,

Mr. Rennie reported that the Convent school would give a concert in aid of the Wounded Soldiers Fund, permission -being granted to do so. The matter of fixing- shelves, etc., at the Red Cross Mart, was left in the hands of the chairman and secretary. The donor of the Swiss carvings submitted the list of receipts (which had been handed to the League sonn? months ago) and a list of the unsold articles, showing that £ll2 had been received by the League inclusive of the Art, Union of the Hall Seat, in addition to> "which there were articles on hand to the value of £2o^

GENERAL. The ladies of the Guild in connection with the Knox Presbyterian Church met at Mrs. Purdie's residence la3t Friday, to hid farewell to Mrs. Passau, who left by the mail train this morning for Wellington. Mrs. Passau has been an ardent worker in the church, and as a mark of appreciation for her services was presented with a handsome epergne. Mr. IT. McKenzie went to New Plymouth yesterday to undergo an operation at the public hospital, and may be an inmate of that institution for some time. His many friends wish him a speedy recovery.
