PLAIN TALK. • KED FOR PESSIMISM. Melbourne, Nov. 1. Mr. Pearce, in a speech at Brighton, said there was no need for pessimism because of the enemy's temporary success here or there. Tt was no time to talk about abandoning Gallipoli or losing hope, but they should send more men, munitions, and money, with every confidence in the brains of those directing tlie military str&t6gy.
