Lieut.-Colonel Hope Lewis, who is in Christcliurch inspecting the sick and wounded soldiers, ha 3 stated his disapproval of public receptions to the returned wounded as a waste of energy that might be better applied in finding employment for the returned men who are sufficiently recovered for light work.
