It may be mentioned that, some months ago, Mr. James Brown, of Onehtraga, stated that he would give £IOO to the first Onehunga boy to win the Victoria Cross. It is a coincidence that Corporal Baasett, the New Zealander recently awarded the Cross, lives only t comparatively short distance outside the bouiMhriw of Unehmigs.
