ARRIVED HOME.
THE TOFUA'S MEN. By Telegraph.—'Press Assoafttios. Wellington, Oct. 28. The North Island section of the men returning by the Tofua arrived per Mararoa at 11 o'clock. A large crowd and bands greeted them. The men looked very well, with isolated exceptions. The northerners prooeeded home by the 1.10 train. A number were at Quinn's Post, and others at Oaba Tepc. All saw some sanguinary conflicts and are glad to return to a peaceful atmosphere for a spell. The ship made an excellent passage out, with only two bad days. The. men drove through the streets in motors, and received a hearty reception. They were entertained in the Town Hall. Speeches of welcome were given by the Governor, the Hon. W, F. Masscy, Sir Joseph Ward, the Hon. W. H. Herries, and the Mayor.
