IN THE AIR.
A RAID ON VENICE. CHURCHES DAMAGED. BY AUSTRIAN VANDALS. Rome, Oct. 25. Toutonic aeroplanes attacked Venice. One bomb fell on the Piazctta of St. Mark's, but did not damage the sculptured ceiling. Another church was crushed The Austrian aeroplanes which bombarded the church of Degli Scalzi damaged famous paintings by Tintoretto and Veronese.
ATTACK RENEWED. INDIGNATION IN ITALY. Received Oct. 26, 8.5 p.m. Rome, Oct. 26. Three Austrian aeroplanes renewed the attack on Venice in tiie morning, their bomb s wounding i several people. Little damage was done. There is indignation throughout Italy at the barbarous destruction of the Tiepoloi and the priceless ceding of the Degli Scalzi church. RECENT LONDON RAID. MORE INQUESTS." London, Oct. 25. Further air raid inquests have been held on two victims who have since succumbed.
An plderly platelayer and a girl took refuge in ,a hotel, where eight were killed by a bomb twelve yards away. The windows and woodwork were blown in and a man's leg broken. The bomb made a hole in the road nine feet wide and five feet deep, opening into the sewer. The girl died of blood poisoning, as the result of a wound from a fragment of the bomb.
