IMPERIAL CONFERENCE.
THE SUGGESTION FROM LONDON. QUESTION OF NEW ZEALAND'S REPRESENTATION. (From Our Own Correspondent). Wellington, October 22. A cablegram from London states thot Australasian residents there "urgently desire the presence of Mr. Andrew Fisher and Mr. Massey,".in view of the important questions that have arisen in connection with the Dardanelles. The message adds that "it is understood the Imperial Government would welcome the representation owing to the desire to he in closer touch with Australasian feeling." This matter was discussed in political circles during the session of Parliament, and it is understood that since then some developments have taken place. There is reason to believe that communications on the subject have reached tne New Zealand Government from the Imperial authorities. No official statement is likely to be made for a. lew weeks yet. It may be assumed that in the event of an Imperial Conference being summoned in the near future both Mr. Massey and Sir Joseph Ward would go to London. There are many precedents for the representation of a dominion by two Ministers, and the people of New Zealand would want their delegation to be fully representative of the National Ministry.
