FARM AND DAIRY.
The property of Mrs. W. Leech, of Kaimata, has changed hands at somewhere in the region of £2O 10s per acre (says the Becord). People are beginning to realise that the cheapest land in the Dominion, quality considered, lies in the environs of Inglewood. The New Zealand Jersey Breeders' Association has a strong following in Tariki, which is one of the chief strongholds of that Association in Taranaki (says the Record). Amongst the members living in the vicinity may be mentioned Messrs J. E, Fenwick ,W. V. Harkness, J. Knowles, W. N. Stephenson and A. A. Ward, who amongst them own some of the choicest strains of Jersey cattle in the Dominion, enquiries for which are received from all parts of New Zealand, and no effort has been spared to secure toe very best to be obtained anywhere. It i 3 worthy of note that the starting of Jersey breeding at Tariki is directly traceable to Mr. Walter Bewley, one of the pioneers of the district, who got his first pedigree Jerseys, it is believed, from the late Mr. Hulke, undoubtedly the founder of the interest in Jenay cattfe that has taken such a firm '"'
