Though the speculative sheep buyer has not been a very prominent figure of late in the Temuka. district (states the correspondent of the Christchurch Star), he has by no means ceased to operate. No big deals have been reported but one case is worthy of mention, and may be accepted a3 an indication that a fair amount of money has been ma'!e by graziers who were in a position to sieizs opportunities. A man purchased a fairly large line of sheep about six weeks a»o at 5a Bd. He was not very happy over his bargain until a few weeks later he offered the same sheep at auction, and obtained 20s to 22b each tor thorn.
