MILITARY SUPPLIES.
j AX ACTIVE DEMAND. DEPARTMENT AT HIGH PRESSURE. By Telegraph.—'PreM Association. Wellington, Last Xight. Hon. Arthur M. Myers, Minister of Munitions and Supplies, 19 remaining in Wellington, being fully occupied in making arrangements for large quantities 9!' supplies that are required by the military authorities. When it is considered that with the men now in training, and those to be called up to the end of the year, the number exceeds 15,000, and that a further 30,000 will be called up in 1916; also that each soldier requires to be provided with three issues of various articles, the importance of the activities of the Supplies Department will be readily realised. The demand for supplies is a very heavy one, and our resources are being taxed to the utmost to fulfil requirements saeisfactorily. Mr. Myers, however, expresses liia appreciation of the patriotic spirit, displayed by warehousemen and other trading establishments, and also by their employees iu doing everything possible to increase the output to the desired quantity, and he hopes that, given the same assistance in the future, there will be no serious difficulty in meeting the demands ,al the militu? authorities
