Griffiths, of New Plymouth, donated the purebred Jersey bull "Petune's Noble," valued at 150 guineas, to the New Plymouth Patriotic Committee to be raffled on,behalf of the Belgian Fund and the Wqunded Soldiers' Fund, The raffle was drawn by the Deputy-Mayor (Mr, W. A. .Collis) at the Empire Thoatre last night, the » jwinning number being 7lßtt, tvltich was ! purchased by Miss Mary S. Tlmeker, of O'Kain's Bay, Banks Peninsula. Mr. J. E. Wilson, chairman-of the Patriotic League, in addressing the audience, said it gave the committee very tn-at plasure to accept the offer of Mr. I'rilliths, and it was a straight-out gift. x 11 there were a few more citizens in New Plymouth who would do what Mr. (Irifliths had dope the patriotic funds would be in a very much betjter position than they were to-day. A gum of considerably over CSOO Iwd been obtained by the sale of tickets.
ANOTHER FINE GIFT. Yesterday Mr. Newton King offerou the Patriotic Committee a 1918 mod I Studebakcr motor car, to be raffled om behalf of the Wounded Soldier-' Fund The committee has accepted the gift and arrangements its disposal will b put in hand at once. ,
