N.Z. LOAN AND MERCANTILE CO.'S REPORT. The New Zealand Loan and Mercanile Co., Ltd., Hnwera, report as follows: Our spring cattle fair was held at Opunake on the 11th inst. There was a large and representative attendance, and. we had a successful sale.l Just over 1000 head of cattle were yarded, over "00 of which were disposed of! Store hullocks brought from £9 to £lO 10s, fresh conditioned cows ,£B'to £9 4s, forward cows £6 Os to £7 Bs, stora cows £4 12s to. £.") 18s, aged cows and boners £3 lis to £4 Bs, cows and calves £0 10s to £8 lis, 18-month empty heifers £3 las to £4 9s, 15-month Hoistein heifers £4 3s. yearling steers (a,., dium) £3 0s to £3 7s Od, ditto (small) £1 19s to £2 18s 6d, yearling heifers (fair) £2 to £2 12s, ditto (small). £1 8s Od to £1 18s, yearling Shorthorn bulls £« as to £lO ss, grade yearlings £3 lzs Mto £6 12s Od. In the dairy pens there vyas a moderate yarding of mqatlv inferior stufT, a fow good cows sold well. Best dairy cows brought from £lO 12s 6d to £l4, dairy heifers (small) £0 os to £7 10s, ditto (poor) £4 5s to £5 15s. At Manaia, on the 12tn Inst., we had t, fair entry and a good sale, prices (foniparing favorably with those ruling at other centres. Fat cows (medium) brought £9 3s to £9 ]ss, fresh conditioned cows £8 N ls to £8 18s, forward £7 to £7 ISs fld,, store cows £5 2s to £5 15s, aged cows and boners £3 10s to £4 4s, best dairy heifers £8 17s (Id to £lO, others (backward and small) £4 to £5, heifers and calves £4 ISs. 2-year bulls £7 10s to £l3, yearling steers (small) £2 19g 6d to £3 3s, yearling heifers £2 5s to £2 Os, 18-month empty he;:vr3 £4 &* small store pigs £1 os fld to £1 7s, slips 12s to 14 Od, ditto (good) 19s to £1 Hn At Waverley, on tfel 15th inst., we had a fair yarding of both sheep and cattle, which sold tinder good competition. The whole of the sheep and practically all the cattle changed hands at prices in favor of the vendors. Ewes and lambs (ordinary) brought 22s 7d to 22s lOd, 4-tooth wethers 26s 3d. mixed hoggets 22s Cd, ditto (small) 18s fld. cull hoggets 14s, 3'/ s -year steers £» 15s, 2i/, year ditto Cli 18s. fresh conditional cows to £S 13s, forward cows £7 to £7 3s, store cows £."i 9s to £5 18s, d'tto (small) £4 to £4 fts, dairy cows £T " s to £O, springing heifers £6 10s to <" X* ditto (small and backward) £4 10- *o £5 15s, 18-month empty heifers £3 7 ft to £3 13s, la-month Jersey cross heifer* £3 0s to £3 9s, weaner pigs 12s.
