ABOUT ABSENTEE LANDLORDISM AND A REMEDY.
"Absentee landlordism" is an evil in some parts of New Zealand. It is a hindrance to proper settlement, and this unnatural restriction of the, earth's power to yield wealth is an injury to the whole country. But there is one part of New Zealand where "absentee landlordism" can be beneficial alike to the absentee and to the locality where the estate is situated. This is Tasman —the best part of fruitful Nelson province, where a town-dweller can buy ideal land for apples, and arrange for a maximum of productiveness.
