The course was crowded. Results:— OBY HURDLES.-Blaek Step, 1; Parral, 2; Bard of Avon, 3. Nine starters. Eishon fell at the mile hurdle, bringing down several others. Lavendo got his nose in front at the half distance, and beat William the Silent home by a length, Cyklon being threequarters of a length further back. Time, lmin 42%9ec, Lavcndo's win in the Cup was remarkable, seeing that only a month ago he was running at suburban meetings, bis first win being a second division handicap. His first good ra«e was in the October Stakes, when he beat Traquette and Di Gama, at weight-for-age. Since then he rapidly improved, and was warmly favored for the Cup, in which be ran a fine race.
