PATRIOTIC COMMITTEE.
QUEEN CABNIVAL TO BE HELD. The New Plymouth Patriotic Committee last night Accepted the offer of the Sports Committee to run a Queen Carnival for Taranaki, providing the other Patriotic Committees in Taranaki agree to the proposal. No definite arrangements have yet been made for the carnival, but it is proposd to hold it in the near future.
The committee decided to help desirable men who wish to enlist, and are debarred from doing so 'by some disability which they cannot afford to have attended to. The committee will accept donations for this work, and a committee was appointed to inquire into the cases of applicants.
A committee was appointed to inquire into cases of want in New Plymouth, and was empowered to give financial aid in urgent caseß. A special meeting will be held next Wednesday to appoint a chairman in place of Mr. J. E. Wilson.
