ENTERTAINMENTS.

THE EMPIRE. Commencing at the matinee to-day a sensational drama of circus life by tile famous Nordisk Company will be the leading feature of the new bill. "Children of the Circus" presents an absorbing plot, interwoven with thrilling and exciting stage performances. The plot depicts the efforts of an old circus artist to protect his daughter from the macliinatipns of a wealthy adventurer. The father outwits the adventurer and everything ends happily. The Keystone Company is represented by a comedy, "Mabel and Fatty's Married Life," in which the two laugh-makers, Mabel Normand and Eoseoe Arbuckle, play some funny jokes on each other. "Zeppelin Raid on 'Paris" gives a good idea of the damage done in a Parisian suburb by the Germans. "A Life in the Balance" is an exciting railway drama by the Kalem Company. Hie usual War Gazette and a Vitagraph comediy complete the programme. Seats may be reserved.

ROYAL PICTURES. To-day at 2.30 the Royal Pictures management present a new programme of the latest in filmdom. "Who Violate the Law" is the star attraction, and Is said to be Lubin's latest and best production. "The French Army in Woevre" shows big guns going into action—what it means when you read in the communique, "We havo consolidated the ground recently gained." Heavy guns are seen drawn on rails firing over a hill; trophies oE war; the platfonn of an Austrian mortar and some 150 German guns; bringing in prisoners. The "Australian Gazette" contains the return of the Australian sick and wounded from the Dardanelles and Harry Julius and his interesting cartoons. "Lola the Rat" is a pleasing Vitagraph drama. "The Roeky Road to Love" is a farce full of fun from beginning to end. "Love, Loot and Crash" is a smashing comedy by the popular Keystone Company.
