ENTERTAINMENTS.

.EMPIRE (PICTURES. Last night the management of the Empire Theatre presented a programme of all-round excellence. Two star dramas adorn the bill. One is Selig's "A Fight to the Death." Not till the final scene is shown does the spectator know how the characters work out their destiny. The other star film is "In the Twilight," by the Flying "A" Company. The play of sentiment shows how a young man went to see the world, leaving the girl he loved behind, while his brother stayed at home and married his sweetheart, and how the world rambler returned to find a welcome. Supporting items include "The Return of our Wounded Heroes from the Dardanelles" (a film of exceptional interest);. "Within the German Lines" shows what our enemies are doing; "Australian Gazette" is as usual full of interesting events; "Percival's Awakening" and "Fatty's Chance Acquaintance" (Keystone) supply tile comical portion of the programme.
