"A MERE PROMENADE." BULGARS' DISASTROUS MOVE TO MACEDONIA. Received Oct. 14, 5,5 p.m. London, Oct. 13. The Bulgarian attack on Kragujevatz was disastrous. The Macedonians at. the first encounter were thrown into confusion and massacred by the Serbian artillery. Th!e check has disturbed the Bulgarian staff, which deluded itself., that the occupation of Macedonia wasi a. mere promenade. . THE BREACH WIDENS. BULGARIA DECLARES AGAINST SERBIA. New York, Oct. 13. Reuter's London correspondent that Bulgaria has declared war on Serbia. SERBIANS CLAIM SUCCESSES. Nish, Oct. IS. The Serbians captured several guns in the southern outskirts of Belgrade. The Austro-Germans were forced to evacuates Orsova under fierce Serbian artillery lire, which destroyed the' barracks and ammunition depots. , THE WAY OF THE HUN. BABY-KILLING AGAIN. Nish, Oct, 13. The German aeroplanes are bombing Serbian towns and villages, killing wo- ] men and children in the hope of terror- ] •ising the population. AN AUSTRIAN REPORT. Amsterdam, Oct. 13. An Austrian communique says:—The JAustro-Hungarfiaai troops, advancing from Belgrade, stormed Ligar,,a mountain eastward of the town, and the Landon entrenchments, capturing three guns. All the heights around Belgrade, commanding the river crossings, are in the possession of the Austro-Germans. AT SALONIKA. * 100,000 TROOPS LANDED. TURKS CONCENTRATING. Received Oct. 14, 5.5 p.m. London, Oct. 13. The Daily Telegraph's Rome correspondent states that the Allies have landed a hundred thousand troops at Salonika, atid others are on the way. Many civilians are being arrested and shot at Varna and Burgas, by courtmartials composed exclusively of German officers. The Turks are concentrating at Adrianople and Kirk Kilisse. IMMEDIATE ACTION NECESSARY. NEW OFFENSIVE, Received Oct. 14, 5.5 pan. Paris, Oct. 13. Telegrams from Nish show that the rfeed for the swiftest action and pressure is very great on 'both Seaibian fronts, particularly in Morava valley. It is suggested that Russia, instead of attacking Varna, may bring troops to the Danube, which is an international waterway, or through Roumania, via Dobrudja. * To-day's Berlin communique claims that the Serbian resistance is only able to slightly hold up the forward movement and attack on Pozarevac, thirtyfive miles south-east of Belgrade. The attack is still continuing most favorably. An .Athens telegram reports a fresh Bulgarian offensive at Zaitchar, twentyfive miles north of Kniazhevatz. The Serbians repulsed the attack. RUSSIA WILL LAND TROOPS. BULGARIA DEPENDS ON GREECE. Received Oct. 1-1, 9 p.m. Paris, Oct. 14. The Russians report that they are preparing to land a great force oil the Bulgarian coast. There is little enthusiasm among the Bulgarian troops, and trouble •is anticipated. The Germans nave taken control of all Government departments in Bulgaria, apart from the troops, and are fortifying Dede-Agatch. The Portolagos have practically all gone to the Serbian frontier, Bulgaria relying on Greece to maintain neutrality. A SCHEME OF RECIPROCITY. Received Oct. 14, 9.15 p.m. Ixmdon, Oct. 14. A Berlin telegram states that Turkey lias placed ammunition works and two army corps at Bulgaria's disposal, and Bulgaria, i rl return, has agreed to despatch a great supply of coal and many railway waggons. Turkey will also be permitted to use Bulgarian ports in the Black Sea. GREECE'S OPINION. OF A WOBBLING NATURE Received Oct. 14, 9 p.m. Athens, Oct. 14. It is stated that M. Venizclos urged his followers to adopt an attitude of toleration, with a view to not precipitating a crisis. A diplomatic source declares that in replying to the Serbian suggestion, Greece considered the present Bulgarian aggression was not of a Balkanic character, and, therefore, not within the scope of the Serbo-Grecisn treaty.
