MONARCHY v. REPUBLICANISM. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. London, Oct. 11. The Evening Standard's Pekin correspondent says that a great military review was planned for October 10, the anniversary of the forming of a republic. It was abandoned owing to the discovery that the military leaders had arranged a coup-d'-etat' forcibly to crown Ynah-Shi-Kai Emperor during the review. The Imperial yellow robes were ready. It was known that the President was willing and anxious to become the first of a new dynasty. The monarchical movement is' rapidly developing. There is ground for tlie belief that Yuan will be proclaimed Em-p-Ti-or on the first day of the New Year.
