WILL OF LATE MR, T. OAWTHQRN, By Telegraph.-jPrees Association. Nelson, Last Night. By the will of the late Thomas C*W» thorn tho bulk of his estate in devised for the prosecution of a great project which the testator evidently had in view for many years. After making provision for a number of annuities and legacies to relatives, all other real and personal property is bequeathed to the Bishop of Nelson, the Mayor of Nelson, the chairman of the Waimea County Council, the member of the House of Representatives and Legislative Council for the city of Nelson and Waimea electorate, chairman of the Nelson Harbor Board, and William Rout, Jnr., of Nelson, all in trust, and who are all also to be executors, (or the purchase of land and the erection and maintenance of an industrial and technical school institute and museum, to be called "The Cawthorn Institute." It is understood that the testator contemplated the institution on somewhnt similar lines to scientific and research lit - stitutes in Europe, and covering a wide range of activity, bearing upon industry and commerce. The value of the estate is not yet ac.urntely known, but it.is believed to be in the neighbourhood of a quarter of a million. The will m% executed in London in 1002.
