In returning thanks, the chairman silid that it was dillieult for shareholders to appreciate how dill'crent it was to be chairman of a bacon company as compared with a dairy company. The former needed constant ami almost daily supervision, lie was proud of his connection with the Injrlewood Haeon Company, which he had carried on since its foundatioii, in which lie had a prominent part. It had proved a continued soccess, even if each year had not shown a credit to the profit and loss account. It was the unly bacon factory run on co-operative lines in New Zealand that had been made to pay. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded the manager, secretary, and staff for their services during the past year. The chairman paid a high tribute to the £ood work done by the manager (Mr. J. Allen).
