TXIXDON WOOL SAT.ES. The Bank of Xew Zealand have received the following cable advice from llieir London office: London wool sales closed firm at ■decline. 29,000 bales of New Zealand wool held over. Merinos, good unchanged, inferior 10 per cent, cheaper; greasy crossbreds superior S per cent, cheaper, lambs 10 per cent, cheaper. Slipes scoured, fine 5 to 7% per rent., others 10 to 15 per cent cheaper. Current prices: Crossbreds. coarse. 14d to 15d, medium 15d to IGd, fine lfi'/.d to l/'/sd, halfbreds 17d to 17'/ 3 d. L. A. Nolan and Co. report:—On September 22 we held our salf of the above in our Gill Street store. We submitted our average catalogue to a full attendance of buyers. Competition was keen, and full market prices were realised for all lines offered. Hides sold on a par all round witli last sale. Calfskins were slightly better; good-conditioned and well-flayed skins advanced from %d to %d per lb, second grade and badly taken off lines being neglected. Sheepskins, in sympathy with outside markets, showed a decline of fully Id per lb on last month's rates. Crutchings declined sharply, full 2d peT lb. Fleece wool appeared to hold its own. Tallow advanced full 15s per ton. Sundries sold at usual rates.
