FITZROY SCHOOL.

MEETING OF THE COMMITTEE. A meeting of the Fitzrov School Committee was held on Wednesday nHit. 'Present: Messrs W. 0!. Reid (in the chair), W. Griffiths. A. Aroa, V. Arden and A. Jones. A resolution of .sympathy with Mr. Geo. White in his jll ne3s was carried. Appreciation was expressed of the action of the Taranaki School Committees' Association in its efforts to retain the Taranaki educational district. The headmaster reported that durino the quarter ended September 30 the average attendance was M 7 and the number on the roll was 103. The school children and the stall' sent away a large Christmas hamper for the soldiers at the front, which contained 4000 cigarettes, a case of chocolates, woollen comforts, face-cloths, handkerchiefs, cakes and other good things. Accounts amounting to £7 Cs Cd were passed for payment.
