NEW PLYMOUTH CTRCTTr, 'J'he .quaitcrly. meeting of the ' New Plymouth circuit was held in the White-., ley schoolroom on Tuesday evening. Rev. Ai B. Ohappell, M.A., superintendent of the "circuit," was in the chair, and there were also present Rev. C..H. 01d5,.8.A., and a large number of officials. The financial returns for the quarter were considered eminently satisfactory. In addition to the ordinary offertories, the sum of about £SO had been received as special donations, thus showing a practically clean balance-sheet. A committee was appointed to decide the form an appeal should take for Christmas gifts to the North Island Methodist Orphanage and other purposes. In connection with the work amongst the young, the chairman reported that a Junior Christian Endeavor Society bad been started at Whiteley. It was decided, if possible, to obtain the services during the vacation of a student from the Theological Institution in Auckland. Mr. J. W. Boon, who was present, was felicitated upon reaching the ripe age of 70 years, and being still in active service in the church.

A standing vote of sympathy was passed with those who have lost sons and brothers at the front, and a small committee was set up to go into the question of erecting a "roll of honor" in the church. Messrs R. FeppereU and J. Gibson were elected representatives of the circuit at the forthcoming synod at ITawera, with Messrs J. \V. Boon and G. 11. White as substitutes. A unanimous invitation was extended to the Rev. A. B. ChappeM and C. IT. Olds to remain in the circuit for ii third year. Eadi of the ministers suitably responded, cordially accepting the invitation.
