NEW* ZEALAND TROTTING ASSOCIATION.

At a meeting of the Board of the NewZealand Trotting Association, held this afternoon, a letter was read from (.lie Ilutt Valley Trotting Club, stating that its name bad been changed to Wellington Trotting Club, The president said that it was necessary for the club to obtain the Association's authority for [change of names, and he suggested that the club should be advised to make application as required under Rule 48. The President stated that the case of the New Brighton Trotting Club was now in a posiion to be dealt with. He read a letter which had been sent to the Association in duly last by Mr. 11. 0. Duncan, the club's auditor,' who forwarded a copy of circular he had sent to the members of the club with reference to its balance-sheet. Mr. Selig said that when this correspondence came before the Associations it had decided to
write to the club for an explanttion. In) tlie meantime, Mr. E. A, Archer, preev dent of the club, had commenced ut action for damages against the auditor, which, for the time being, stopped »njf ' • further inquiry. Further correspondence. . from the club showed that, an injuaetic* ! 'had been granted to prevent the club '• from doing things which might have de« feated the ends of justice. Though no official information had 'been received, it , had been stated that Mr. Archer h*d die. continued his case, and now official eom< munk-ation had been received from th« club. l .
It was decided that the matter W dealt with in committee. 's It was decided that, provided tile Association was satisfied, no license should, * be issued to any person who, in the opini ion of any individual club under the jurisdiction of the Association is an un. desirable person to frequent that ctab'a course.
