WEDDINGS.
QUILUAM—BEWLEY. The wedding took place at New Plymouth yesterday afternoon, in St. Mary's Church, of Sergeant Ronald Henry Quilliam, to Miss Gwendoline Minnie Bewley, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Bewley. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. 11. A. Favell. The bride, wlig| was given away by her father, wore a gown of white crepe de chine and white feathered hat lined with shell pink, and carried a bouquet of white roses, lily of the valley, and stock. Tile bridesmaid was Miss Kate Devore, of Auckland, who wore white voile with embroideries let in, and old rose hat, and her bouquet was pink roses and maiden-hair fern. Mrs. Bewley, mother of the bride, wore a gown of voilet amure and biscuit-colored hat trimmed with white ostrich' feathers tipped with mauve. Mrs. Qtiilliam, mother of the bridegroom, wore black crepe de chine and nigger-brown hat, trimmed with black feathers. Mr. Cecil Quilliam brother of the bridegroom, was best man. After the ceremony the guests were entertained at the residence of the bride's parents, after which the bride and bridegroom left by- motor-car for the South. The bride travelled in a grey gaberdine costume and blue tagel hat, wreathed with pink and red roses, and she also wore a mole corduroy velvet motor coat. The bridegrom leaves for the front with the Eight Reinforcements.
BIGNELL—BAYLY. Another wedding at St. Mary's Ohureh yesterday, was that of Mr, A. P. (Noel) Bignell, of Awakino, to Miss Patricia Mary Bayly, third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bayly, New Plymouth. The olfi.ia.ting minister was the Rev. W. A. Butler. The bride wore a bright navy crepe de chine costume and wore a white and saxe hat with touches of pinlc. She was attended by her siser, Miss Pay Bayly, who wore a smart blue silk poplin, primrose floral belt and white lace hat with wreath of pale yellow roses. The mother of the bride wore a mole silk costume, with tartan collar and cufl's, and mole hat with ostrich plume to match. Mrs. Bignell wore black silk with ninon overdress and vieux rose hat. Mrs. Fantham, the bride's grandmother, wore a grey costume, grey boa, and black and white hat. Mrs. Spratt, the bride's sister, was in navy crepe de chine, navy hat, with cerise roses; Miss Wynne Bignell white-embroidered voile and white hat wreathed with roses. ■" The bridegroom was attended by Mr. Cecil Bignell. The reception was held at the residence of the bride's parents, and later in the afternoon the couple left by motor-car.
MAINDONALD—NORTHCOTE. A very pretty wedding took place yesterday at the Methodist Church, Manaia Road, at 11.30 a.m., the contracting parties being Misa Phyllis Maud NorthcotS, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs. Oliver Northcote, of Mahoe, and Mr. Frederick Thomas Maindonald, of [Manaia Road, Mahoe, second eon of Mr.
