An American, Mr. Curtis Allen, who has arrived at 'Frisco, states that Dr. Cook, the alleged discoverer of the North Polo, was arrested and imprisoned at Rangoon. Allen alleges that he shared a cell with Cook. The Britisli authorities believed him (Allen )to be a German, acting in conjunction with Cook, and threatened to hang him.
