It would be unwise *o make any declaration of the situation at present. GERMANY'S WOOING. PROMISES WHAT SHE CAN'T GIVE. Received Oct. 3, 3.30 p.m. Paris, Oct. 2. Le Temps states that the Entente Ministers at Sofia have notified the Government that the Entente will assist JSsrbia if Bulgaria attacks her. Le Petit Journal states that Germany has offered to give Bulgaria Macedonia, Old Serbia, and Albania, with an outJet on the Adriatic. NOT UNITED.

Advice* from Cologne state that Austria is sending lloumania an ultimatum, couched in friendly terms, asking her to allow t!ie transit of munitions to Turkey. A short time is allowed for an answer, which Germany hopes will be satisfactory.

The newspapers state that tens of thousands of Anglo-French troops, which will shortly be landed in Macedonia, in the event of KiDg Ferdinand carrying out his aggressive policy, will be the moat convincing warning to Bulgaria. and a disagreeable surprise for the Austro-Germans. SERBIA'S WORK. ON THE DANUBE LINE. - Received Oct. i, 12.40 a.m. Paris, Oct. 3. Le Petit Parrsien's Bucharest correspondent says that the Germans have relieved the Austrians on the first line of the Danube. A German battalion, in attempting to cros3 the Smendria, was entirely destroyed. Seven attempts to doss the Danube in different places were legated with heavy losses.
