TURKS ROUTED. A SIGNAL BRITISH SUCCESS. London, Sept. 29. Official: The British won an important success in Mesopotamia. The 'JXirka are retreating towards Bagdad. Mr. Chamberlain, in the House of Commjons, announced that General Dixon's operations with tbe Oth Division on the Tigris on Tuesday were completetly successful. The enemy were seven miles east of Kutelamara. Following tbe river bank, two British brigades under Colonel Delamam crossed tbe river and gained the enemy's position and captured it by a night march at Kutelamara. We strongly entrenched at night, and armored motor-cars and cavalry engaged the Turkish cavalry. The Turkish losses were severe. Our casualties were under 500. Much munitions and many prisoners were captured.
