ON THE SEA.
THE SANTA ANNA OUTRAGE. DUE TO GAS. Reecived Sept. 29, 8,6 p.m. London, Sept. 28. The commander o'F the Santa Anna says that the explosions were due to asphyxiating gas. Forty passengers were overcome by the fumes, but recovered. When the first fire was nearly Mtinguished a second explosion occurred. The heat was so intense that several plates in the liner's hull melted. The captain has eighteen pieces of fase which he found ia tie water.
