A GAME OF CUT THROAT. (Times and Sydney Sun Services. Received Sept. 23, 5.5 p.m. London, Sept. 25. The Times' correspondent in Mesopotamia says that the troops at the Persian Gulf welcome the approaching winter, as ending a spell of long and trying heat. The climate has taken a heavy toll of the British and Indian troops alike. The troops opposing the British advance are mainly Turkish regulars, assisted by Arab and Kurd levies and warlike Arabs. The tribesmenot the country have lately played a three-cornered game, harassing and plundering both sides, and sometimes turning a Turkish defeat into a disastrous rout
