AN APPEAL TO THE WOMEN OF BRITAIN.

"Women of Britain, awake, For your home and your children's sake. There is work to be done, There's a cause to be ( won, When women of Britain awake. Women of Britain arise, In this day of great danger be wise, Be strong to endure, And keep yourselves pure, Oh, women of Britain arise. Mothers of Britain, be strong, Hate every appearance of wrong, Stand up for the right, And help in the fight, Of the nation to which ye belong. But, mothers of Britain, be kind, There's many a weak one you'll find, Who through love will abstain, And from evil refrain, If only the mothers are kind. Young women of Britain, beware, For the sake of your womanhood fair, Nor let your good name Be branded with shame, But guard it as jewel most rare.. And, women of Britain, be brave, Perhaps there is one you can save. By a cheery word here, Or a kind action there, ' x So, women of Britain be brave. And women of Britain must think, Or into some evil will sink. One thing they can do, This evil subdue, The terrible demon of drink. But women of Britain should pray, There's much can be done by that way. One is apt to forget, There's a Greater Power yet, So women of Britain should pray And women of Britain must work, No duty or privilege shirk, For moments are flying, And strong men are dying, So women of Britain must work. Then, women of Britain, unite, . Use your influence, help in the fight, Our God will give strength, And victory at length, For our home and our country and right." MABEL CHRISTON. 7 Alderley Road, Hoylake.
