SAILED. Newcastle, Sept. 23.—Lord Derby, for Wellington. THE CORTNNA. The C'orinna leaves Dunedin for New Plymouth via way ports to-morrow, instead of Monday, as is usually the case, NOTES. , The steamer Dorset left Townsville, Queensland, on Sunday for Wellington, and is due there to-morrow. She is to load in the dominion under the auspices of the New Zealand Shipping Company. The Dorset subsequently visits Wanganui and Picton. Geo. H. Scales, Ltd., have taken over the steamer Hebburn on a time charter. The vessel is now on her way from Bunbury to Dunedin, Lyttelton, Wellington, and 'Auckland with jarrah, and after completing another trip or two in the intercolonial, trade will load a cargo of wool for London. She is due at Lyttelton about Sunday next. Captain D. Cameron, late of the Corinna, has been appointed head wharfinger at Dunedin for the Union Company, in place of Captain Ross, who has taken up a similar position at Westport.

Cabled advice has been received to the effect that the Opawa, en route from New Zealand to London, arrived at Monte Video on Fridav last.

The R.M.S. Moana, which is due at Wellington from San Francisco on October 24 is bringing 23 first saloon, 24 second, and 30 third-class passengers. The Moana is also bringing 540 tons of American cargo for that port. The Government training ship Amokura, which is at present undergoing lepairs and overhaul at Wellington, is expected to go on her spring cruise to the southern island group in search of castaways towards the end of October.

The s.s. Parattah is now loading at New York on behalf of the American and Australian Line. She is timed to sail on September 28 for Lyttelton, Dunedin, Melbourne, and Sydney.
