PATRIOTIC WAR DRAMA. , " WITHIN OUR GATES." The gloriouslyHcontrived J. C. Williamson, Ltd., patriotic war drama, "Within Our Gates," or "Deeds that won Gallipoli," will be screened at the Theatre Royal to-night and to-morrow night. The warning note of this superb production is: "The drama of the Empire is being fought, heroics are gloriously traditional, but within our gates there are lurking dangers nearer home, the cursed German spy peril." We need to stifle this danger, crush it, stamp it completely out of existence. Throughout the British Empire we have seen the evil effects of this elaborate network of intrigue and crime. "Within Our Gates" lays bare some of the methodß employed in this great spying campaign, and also deals with the glorious deeds of our gallant Australasian troops at the Dardanelles. In the words of Sir lan Hamilton, "they have already created for their country an imperishable record of military virtue," and the producers of "Within Our Gates" have endeavored to convey to the public some faint idea of what our gallant lads are doing in the firing line at the present moment. Although the picture has been secured at considerable expense, the prices of admission will remain as usual, viz., Is Od, Is and 6d " " • ' THE EMPIRE. To-night's all-new list features the popular Keystone comedian, Syd Chaplin, in one of the company's latest comic releases, "Gtissie's Day of Kest," which, as those who are familiar with the topsyturveydom methods of the Keystone people will readily guess, is more a day of riot and ruction. The title opens up possibilities for much fun. "A War Baby" is described as a strongly emotional yet powerful and convincing Lubin story of love and noble impulses by a •female military spy. "Life at the Siront," disclosing the conditions under which the men in the trenches are fighting, should be especially interesting. "In the Vale of Sorrow" and "Limping to Happiness" are two beautiful dramas. 'Tho usual will also be sbgwn,
