BIG BORROWING APPROVED Ofr^ By Telegraph.—'Press Association., Napier, Last Night, Five loans proposals, involving 4mA 000, were put before the ratepayer! tos day, tbree being carried and two des feated. A proposal to borrow £74(800, to extend the, electric tramways to the hospital by two different routes waa turned dwn, but loans of £36,750 to en tend the tramways along Hasting! Street South, and £3260 for a motor lorry, motor tower waggon, and water sprinkler were agreed to. The ratepayers also sanctioned proposals to borliow £ 18,000 for extension- of lightlar mains, £4OOO for the purchase of I motor fire engine, and £5600 for the repayment of overdraft incurred in lights ing work. A loan of £2OOO for cento tery was approved. Only 700, out of 4000,' ratepayer* tt» corded their votes. ; •
