THECORLNNA. The Corinna left Wellington yesterday afternoon for New Plymouth, and is expected to arrive here to-day. She will sail again to-day for Wellington. THE TE ANAU. The Te Anau left Dunedin yesterday for New Plymouth, via way ports, and is expected about Saturday. . THE RIMU. The R.'mu, which was bar-bound at Manakau Heads on Monday, crossed the bar early yesterday morning and reached New Plymouth shortly after 8 o'clock last night. The Rimu brought 77 tons of general cargo'and the following passengers:—Mcsdames McNeil, Wills and child, Crocker; Misses Brickett, Shepherd; Messrs Jordan, Briekett, F. Carter, W. D. Carter, Christoffelson, Carlson, McDonald, D. Maxwell, Williams, J. May, A. Weir, Crocker, Coleman, Dr. Hunter, Jistone, Radford, Barrett. The Rimu sailed about midnight for Onebunga with the following passengers: —Misses Hooker, Gow, Murray, Webb; Mesdamcs O'Brien, Brown and child, Beale; Messrs Rae, Devore, Bailey, Colenso, King, Rennie, Fraser, Veale, Smith, Cross, Beeby, C&rncross.

SHAW-SAVJLL BOAT& No advice has been received concerning the Athenic's arrival at London from Wellington. The liner left Wellington on August 6, and was due at her destination on Saturday last. The Corinthic, which left Wellington on August 10 is due at London to-day. MERCHANT SERVICE GUILD. By a unanimous vote Captain F. A. Macindoe has been appointed secretary of the Merchant Service Guild (New Zealand Section) oujt of over 100 applicants..

Captain Macindoe is a brother of Mr. A. E. Macindoe, one of the Government inspectors of machinery at Wellington, and he served his apprenticeship with the New' Zealand Shipping Company in sail. Afterwards he was for several years in the service of the Donald Currie Line, trading between Southampton and South Africa.' He came to New Zealand eight or nine years ago as chief officer of the Northern Steam Ship Company's Ngatiawa, and has been with that company ever since. At present he is master of the Ngapuhi, which is in the Whangarei inn. He holds an extra master's ticket, and for tlie past two or three years has been president of the Auckland Shipmasters' Association.

MESS-TABLE GOSSIP. Mr. G. V. Webb, late chief officer of the Rakanoa, has been appointed chief officer of the Wurrimoo, vice Mr. Reeves, who has resigned from the Union Com. pany's service to take up a shore position in Wellington. Mr. J. Nicholson, late of the Wliakatane, is now chief engineer of the Rimutaka. Mr. J. W. Taylor, late of the Ttirakina, is fifth engineer on tlie Rimutaka. .
