EGMONT COUNTY COUNCIL.
SPECIAL MEETING. A special meeting of the Kgmont County Council was held at Opunake on Monday to consider estimates and metal requirements for the ensuing year. Cr. M. Fleming presided, and theTe were also present: Crs. Wright, Harvey, Macßeynolds, Young, McNeill, Campbell and Rawcliffe. The following estimates were agreed to:— Oco riding (northern)—Eltham Road, 800 yds boulders, 100 yds crushed boulders and 200 yds gravel blinding; OpunakeStratford, 300 yds crushed boulders; Patiki, 20yds boulders; Oco, 300 yds Doulders; Wiremu, 30yds boulders; Watino, 100 yds pit metal. The Auroa road was held over until next meeting. Oeo riding (southern)— Main South road, 000 yds pit metal and 100 yds broken stone; Oco, 300 yds pit metal; Nopcra, 300 yds pit metal; Patiki, 1000 yds crushed boulders; Skeet, 1000 yds crushed boulders; Watino, GOOyds; Puketapu, 150 yds pit metal; Hone, 100 yds pit metal. Rahotu riding (southern division) and Opunake—Main South road, re-metalling 24 chains from Oaonui* river to ATawhata road, and 40 chains from slaughterhouse to Te Namu bridge, also 200 yds maintenance metal; Opunake riding, 50yds; Main South road, 704 yds; Eltham road, 224 yds.
Rahotu riding (northern)— Between Rahotu and Oaonui river, 2D2Gyds boulder stone; between Rahotu and Puniho, 200 yds; also 4500 ft timber required, four sets 36-inch pipes, two sets 24-inch pipe 9 and two sets 18-inch pipes.
It was decided to raise the enginedriver's wages to 12s per day whilst employed on the engine; when otherwise employed the wages will be 10s. All other hands, with the exception of the foremen, were granted a> rise of Is per dav.
