For some time past, especially since the outbreak of war and couscqucnt high prices of wool, there has been a persistent effort on the part of wholesale houses and certain retail firms to foist shoddy clothing on the public at very much inflated prices. That there is no justification for this beyond a predatory desire to exploit the public is evidenced by the fact that the Melbourne Clothing Company is still selling the following all pure wool colonial clothings at antewar prices.
